Messiah Come & Sing with Choir of the Earth – NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE

16 March @ 10:30 am - 6:00 pm

£5 – £25

Choir of the Earth is a global online choir. Since March 2020, we have united in our love of choral music and covered oratorios, requiems, hymns and contrasting choral works that have brought us together from all corners of the world.

Now, for the first time ever, we invite you all to come and sing with us in person, as we embark on a ‘come and sing’ tour!

Starting in the UK and Ireland, we invite absolutely everybody to join us as we sing a selection of choruses from Messiah by George Frideric Handel.

Each event will be hosted by Choir of the Earth Founder Mark Strachan BEM and led by Musical Director Ben England BEM.

The Newcastle Upon Tyne stop on our tour will be held on Thursday 16 March 2023 at St George’s Church in Jesmond.

When you book your ticket, you will receive a resource pack that includes a digital score, links to recorded sessions where Ben will teach you the choruses line by line, and links to refresher sessions for those more familiar with the music. In the week before the event, you will also be invited to attend overview sessions that have an optional live text chat, so you can meet and rehearse alongside some of your fellow attendees before the day itself.

In Newcastle Upon Tyne, Ben will lead us through 8 choruses in workshops throughout the day, then in the evening we will sing the choruses we’ve rehearsed in a special concert performance!

Tickets cost £25 for adults and only £5 for students, including all resources, the event itself and complimentary tea, coffee and badge.
