School Rules

Think back… sitting in rows cross-legged on the parquet floor (only if you went to a posh
school), the head teacher looming over you, the old lady (usually someone’s musical Gran)
sitting at the upright piano, the overhead projector, tea towels on your head, one-eyed baby
Jesus shoved in a cardboard box with some stale hay… Those were the days.
This immersive event will take you back to all the best bits of the school assembly at
Christmas, set in the grand Wood Hall at the Common Room, its walls lined with oak
panelling, real fireplaces, antique bookcases, and spiralling iron staircases (giving all the
Harry Potter Great Hall feels).
But this time you get to grab a space on the bench, get a round in from the bar and let legendary north-east comedian Steffen Peddie take you on a hilarious trip back in time as the school Head Master, chocker-block with singalongs of assembly classics like One More Step Along the World I Go & Sing Hosanna
PLUS Nativity Bangers like Away In A Manger &
We Three Kings.
Obviously, you can’t round off a back-to-school event without a festive school disco and our 7-piece live band, Electric Clubland, will have you busting out your best Running Man and MC Hammer moves, not forgetting a whole-school rendition of Whigfield’s Saturday Night routine (don’t lie, you still know it off by heart).
So get your Kickers laced up, your Berol Handwriting Pen ready and your PE kit in a Jane Norman carrier bag, cos SCHOOL RULES. IDST.
