Local Young Performers Shine at Disneyland Paris in 25th Anniversary Celebrations

Students from Razzamataz Theatre Schools Newcastle & Northumberland perform to global audience at world-famous Disney venue

Students from Razzamataz Theatre Schools Newcastle & Northumberland recently took centre stage at one of the world’s most famous venues, performing in the pre-parade celebrations at Disneyland Paris as part of the performing arts school’s 25th anniversary celebrations.

The young performers, ranging in age from primary school to college level, had the extraordinary opportunity to showcase their skills to thousands of visitors from across the globe, bringing their North East training to the magical stages of Disney.

A Dream Come True Performance

The students performed as part of the official pre-parade entertainment, giving them a platform that most professional performers only dream of. For many, it was their first time performing to such a diverse, global audience – an experience that has left lasting memories and boosted confidence levels immeasurably.

“Watching our students perform at Disney was absolutely incredible,” said James Pennell-Tutill, Principal & Artistic Director of Razzamataz Theatre Schools Newcastle. “To see young people from Newcastle and Northumberland sharing their skills with visitors from around the world was genuinely emotional. They represented our region beautifully and showed just what North East performers can achieve.”

Community Impact

The trip proved to be about much more than just the performance itself. Parents were quick to share their appreciation for the transformative experience their children had enjoyed.

“Thank you sooooo much for organising this weekend,” wrote one parent. “From all of the rehearsals, being with friends, making new ones, the thrills of all the rides, meeting characters to the actual parade; it’s been beyond magical!”

Another parent highlighted the strong community bonds evident throughout the trip: “The girls have had an amazing time and I’ve loved seeing them with all of their Razz friends. All of the kids have been amazing and it really does show how much of a family Razz really is – from the oldest to the youngest they’ve all got on so well and looked out for each other.”

Esmé Pennell-Tutill, Principal, reflected on the impact: “We’re so incredibly proud of every single student who took part. Watching them support each other, grow in confidence, and then deliver such a fantastic performance to a global audience was truly special. These are the moments that remind us why we do what we do – helping young people discover their potential and shine.”
